Terry has done such a great job of encouraging the keeper of the home to make it 1) beautiful to the senses, 2) beautiful to God, and 3) inviting to others. I wanted to try every idea I read in her book all at once after I read it! She does a good job of categorizing each room in the house and giving several practical suggestions that help make that area come alive with beauty. There aren't any photos in the book, though, so you may as well order a used copy in good condition because the key is just getting the written advice she provides. Enjoy!

For Me and my artist senses, this book is a modern writting of Edith Schaeffer's " The Hidden Art of Homemaking". I enjoyed the way Terry put this book together. Helping you, think through logically, each room of your home and all your senses, that make home, feel like home. I have used this book as part of my homeschool curriculum, for Home economics for my girls, high school level class. This book is easy to read in format, and fun to re-browse through from time to time to re-stimulate your thoughts, when you begin to feel "What is the missing spark in my home right now?". I highly recommend it, for those of us that want to thoughtfully consider what makes us comfortable, what will make this My "Home Sweet Home". She doesn't approach this from a predigested comercial feel... All the members of your household are considered through practicality to create a warm and loving home design. I pray this book will stay on the market for many others to discover for a long time to come!
This is one of my favorite books. May 29, 2000 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
Terry Willits' book is similar to Alexandra Stoddard's book Living a Beautiful Life. Terry shows readers how to awaken their five senses by making things in their homes look, sound, feel, smell, and taste wonderful. She emphasizes creating a God-centered home and focuses on using the beauty of our homes to nurture the people we love. I enjoyed this book and didn't want it to end. It's a must-read!
